The Theory of Personal Information Space.

THE  THEORY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION SPACE.

Key words: consciousness, mind, intelligence, reality, coma, vegetative state.

Abstract.

Between 2000 and 2023, the author of this article conducted independent scientific research. The aim of this research was to understand what human Consciousness and Mind are. To achieve this goal, the author created a special protocol that allowed for the study of the Mind isolated from the biological body. To this end, a state of deep sensory deprivation was simulated and recreated, in which the human Mind is completely dissociated from the biological body.

The results obtained during the research made it possible to create a theory that explains what Consciousness and Mind are, and provides a new explanation of how the human brain works. The research proved that the entire world around us is actually a construct created by the brain. The entire world that we perceive as reality is a construct that exists in the Personal Information Space.

Introduction.

When I step outside the house I currently live in, I see trees with green leaves, I see the blue sky, I see the road leading to the house and I see the grass growing along this road. I feel the air temperature and realize that it is warm outside. I breathe in the air and feel its purity and humidity. I feel the sun’s rays on my skin. I feel my feet resting on the surface of the concrete slab near the door of the house I live in. I perceive a huge amount of information about my body. I am aware of myself. I feel myself breathing. I feel myself blinking. I feel comfortable. I perceive my body and I perceive the world around me.

Every person has a biological body. Birthday is a symbolic date when the body of each person began to live an independent life. Each person perceives their biological body. Each person perceives himself as a body living in the world around him. We all perceive a huge stream of sensory information that comes to the brain from our body. Eyes, ears, skin, receptors of internal organs constantly send a huge amount of sensory information to the brain. And this information is processed by the brain. The interconnected activity of neurons in the brain creates the Mind. The Mind processes information and verifies it as a feeling of hunger, a feeling of satiety, a feeling of comfort or a feeling of fatigue. Therefore, the Mind can be seen as a system that ensures the survival of the body. But what if we create a state for the Mind in which it stops receiving a continuous stream of information?

Relevance.

Modern medicine, with the help of life support systems, is able to sustain the life of patients who have suffered injuries or other processes that have caused brain damage. When a patient is in a coma, vegetative state, or minimally conscious state, it is important to understand and differentiate the extent of the damage to the neural tissue. It is important to be able to correctly assess the ability of the brain of such patients to recover lost functions.

The Theory of Personal Information Space allows us to understand the state of a patient who has no contact with the outside world. The Theory of Personal Information Space allows us to assess the extent of brain damage and the ability of neurons to recover lost functions.

The Theory of Personal Information Space answers the question: What is Human Consciousness?

The Theory of Personal Information Space answers the question: What is Reality?

Methods and Terminology.

In this scientific paper, I use the following terms. These terms and definitions are created by me and are not based on any other scientific research or theories.

Consciousness. Consciousness is a process. The term “Consciousness” is a verb. It reflects action. Therefore, Consciousness is the process of active perception, analysis, processing, and verification of information. Consciousness is realized through the complex interaction between groups of neurons in the brain. Consciousness is a material process. The process of Consciousness has nothing to do with mysticism.

Consantum. The term “Consantum” is a noun that denotes the structure that forms the basis of every Mind. Consantum is created by neurons in the brain. Consantum generates the process referred to as Consciousness. Consantum is material. Consantum has nothing to do with mysticism.

Personal Information Space. The term “Personal Information Space” denotes the space that is the basis for creating the World that we perceive as Reality. Personal Information Space is material. Personal Information Space has nothing to do with mysticism.

World of Pseudo-Reality. The term “World of Pseudo-Reality” denotes the World that surrounds us. We mistakenly perceive this World as True Reality. The World of Pseudo-Reality is a greatly simplified version of True Reality. The World of Pseudo-Reality is material. The World of Pseudo-Reality has nothing to do with mysticism.

World of Models. The term “World of Models” is the world that our brain creates in the process of active creativity. This is the World in which we create models, make plans, dream, and generate dreams. The World of Models is material. The World of Models has nothing to do with mysticism.

In early 2000, I created a Protocol that allowed me to induce a state of sensory deprivation in subjects. In April 2000, I began a scientific study at the medical clinic that I owned. I began to study the state in which the human Mind is dissociated from the body.

Between April 2000 and November 2015, I conducted a study involving 3000 subjects who were immersed in a state of sensory deprivation. The purpose of the study was to understand what the Mind experiences when it has no sensory or motor connection to its biological body.

The goal of the study was to understand: What is it like to be a Mind that has lost its connection to the biological body? This state can be described as a syndrome of complete blockage and complete dissociation from the body.

To conduct the study, a special room was created that allowed the subject to be isolated from external sounds. A state of absolute silence was created. A special armchair was also used to allow the body to achieve maximum relaxation. The room was kept at a comfortable temperature and silent ventilation was provided.

The specially created protocol allowed the subject to be immersed in a state of deep sensory deprivation. I later modified this protocol and created a method that allowed for safe immersion in a state of максимально deep sensory deprivation and to achieve a state of complete dissociation from the biological body. I took part in the scientific research as a subject. Therefore, I have personal experience and understand what it means to be a Mind that has no sensory or motor connection to its body.

After the study was stopped, a conversation was held in which the subject described in detail his or her feelings during the study. The study showed that when immersed in a state of sensory deprivation, all subjects consistently go through several stages.

At the first stage, there is a gradual loss of body awareness.

At the second stage, the subjects noted a gradual cessation of internal dialogue and immersion in a state of internal silence.

At the third stage, the subjects noted that they were immersed in a state of slowing down and temporary cessation of the thinking process.

At the fourth stage, the subjects noted that they began to have periodic dreams. The dreams came in waves, sometimes getting stronger and sometimes disappearing.

Since my task was to study the state of sensory deprivation, the appearance of dreams was regarded as anhindrance. The protocol I created stopped the dreams and returned the subjects to a state of sensory deprivation. But after a while, they again noted the appearance of dreams.

At the fifth stage, the dreams disappeared, and the subjects were immersed in a state that they were unable to describe. The subjects could only describe the beginning and the end of this stage. The subjects described the beginning of the fifth stage as immersion in a state that they described as the disappearance of everything.

After that, I brought the subjects out of the state of sensory deprivation.

It is important to note that after the study was stopped and the usual state of wakefulness was restored, all subjects noted that during the study they had a period that they described as a moment of absence. A moment when they seemed to fall into a state of non-existence, when they did not exist.

It is important to note that these stages were observed in all subjects regardless of their age, gender, and level of education.

When coming out of the state of sensory deprivation, all subjects noted that they began to feel their bodies again and perceive the world around them. When coming out of the state of sensory deprivation, all subjects noted a state of inhibition and lack of internal dialogue. It took from five to ten minutes for sleepiness to disappear, internal dialogue to be restored, and the process of active thinking to be restored.

In March 2016, I transformed the research protocol. I set a goal to study in detail the fifth stage, which the subjects described as immersion in a state of non-existence. I conducted a study using the new protocol between March 2016 and November 2022.

I transformed the research protocol in such a way that I could independently study the state of sensory deprivation and gain personal experience.

During the study, I immersed myself in the sixth stage. The sixth stage can be described as a state of complete absence of sensory sensations. The new research protocol allowed me to achieve a completely unusual and unique state. A state in which, despite the complete absence of sensory information, the ability to analyze, process, and verify is preserved.

The state that arises at this stage can be described as immersion in Absolute Nothingness. In this state, there is nothing. No sensations. No visual images. No sounds. There is absolutely nothing. This state cannot even be described as immersion in absolute darkness, because there is no darkness itself. There is no concept of light and darkness. There is absolutely nothing. This is exactly Absolute Nothingness. But the most amazing thing is that I am in the center of this Absolute Nothingness. At the same time, I have no body. Absolute absence of the body. I have nothing, no head, no arms, no legs, no reproductive organs, no concept of gender, no body at all, but I am. I have no access to my memory. I have no memories. I don’t know who I am. I don’t know what I’m doing here. There is no sense of time. There is nothing. My Personality does not exist. There is only the perception of myself as Mind and the Absolute Nothingness that surrounds me.

The exit from this state was always even more amazing. The exit from the state of Absolute Nothingness can be compared to a snow avalanche that an alpinist climbing a mountain peak has fallen into. The avalanche surrounds and envelops the person, and a huge stream of snow carries the unfortunate person, rotating him in unimaginable directions. The exit from the state of Absolute Nothingness cannot be controlled. It always happens spontaneously. This process feels like this. An avalanche of the most diverse sensory sensations, mixed in an incredible order, passes through me at a tremendous speed. And then all these sensory sensations are arranged in the correct order, creating the World that surrounds me.

The return to the “Real World” happens very quickly, but it can always be perceived and analyzed. A moment ago, I was surrounded by Absolute Nothingness. There was nothing. There was absolutely no sensory information. There were no images. There were no sounds. There were no sensations. All sensations were absent. There was no body of mine. There were no memories. But suddenly an avalanche of mixed sensory information passed through me, which lined up in the correct order and created the World that is familiar to me.

I was surrounded by Absolute Nothingness, in which there was nothing, including my body, but suddenly this space is filled with an avalanche of information in which all sensations were mixed. And then these sensations are arranged in the correct order, and I perceive my body and perceive the World that surrounds me.

It is important to note that during all the research, I, as a Mind without a body, was in a state of Absolute Nothingness. However, I always perceived that I was in a unique Space. When the research was stopped, this Space was filled with mixed sensory information, which, when arranged in the correct order, created a familiar picture of the surrounding World.

I repeated this experiment with eight subjects. Their descriptions were similar. But unlike me, all eight subjects reported that they felt a tremendous sense of awe when they found themselves in a state of Absolute Nothingness. All subjects reported that they had an amazing experience. After the study was over, all eight subjects reported that it was the most unusual state in their lives. All eight subjects reported that they wanted to understand this state of Absolute Nothingness in which they found themselves. When I met with the subjects three months after the study, all eight subjects reported that the state they were in during the study had a positive impact on their lives.

Results.

The scientific research found the following:

  1. The World around us is a construct created by the brain. Everything we perceive as Reality is actually Pseudo-Reality. Therefore, the World around us is actually a World of Pseudo-Reality.
  2. The human brain not only creates the World of Pseudo-Reality, but also creates the physical space in which this World of Pseudo-Reality exists. This can be called the Informational Space. Therefore, the human brain creates a Personal Informational Space in which the World of Pseudo-Reality exists.
  3. The World of Pseudo-Reality, which people mistakenly perceive as True Reality, reflects the imperfection of the human brain and its limited ability to process information. The brain has limits to its capabilities. It can actively analyze and process only a very small amount of information. When creating the World of Pseudo-Reality, the brain uses a very small portion of the information of the True World.
  4. The World of Pseudo-Reality is connected to memory. Memory fixes the construct created by the brain, which are the elements of the World of Pseudo-Reality. This is necessary to reduce the load on the brain when creating the World of Pseudo-Reality. Since most of the World of Pseudo-Reality is created from ready-made blocks stored in memory.
  5. Consantum is the most interesting structure, which many mistakenly call Consciousness. Consantum is the basis of any Mind. The data obtained in my research suggests that Consantum is created by the subthalamic nuclei. Since the feeling of an avalanche of chaotically mixed information passing through you, which is then processed, structured, and returned to you as the World of Pseudo-Reality, can only be perceived if Consantum is in the path of this information flow. It is hypothesized that Consantum is created as a result of the synchronous interaction of two subthalamic nuclei. However, this is a hypothesis that requires special research.
  6. Consantum is connected to memory. Neurons can stop creating Consantum, which leads to the complete disappearance of the subjective Self. Neurons can recreate Consantum. After restoration, Consantum is able to realize its temporary disappearance. The author of the article created a protocol that allowed, by indirect signs, to realize the temporary disappearance of Consantum. Therefore, it is logical to assume that Consantum is recorded in memory and can be restored in case of any disturbances in the neuronal activity that creates Consantum.
  7. Consciousness is the process by which Consantum perceives, analyzes, processes, and verifies information.
  8. The study showed that a state is possible in which neurons create Consantum, but it does not generate the process of Consciousness. This state can be described as a state in which the awareness of one’s subjective Self is preserved, but the process of thinking stops. At the same time, Consantum does not process information.
  9. The human Personality is a construct that is also necessary to reduce the load on the brain. The human Personality includes a set of template reactions that are activated and used in the right situation. The human Personality is also stored in memory.
  10. The World of Pseudo-Reality is synchronized with the external True World. It can be assumed that the True World is a World of energies that are grouped and create certain structures.
  11. The World of Pseudo-Reality cannot be called a Simulation. Since the World of Pseudo-Reality is a unique construct that is not a copy of some mystical world.
  12. Each person’s brain creates its own unique Personal Informational World. We spend our entire lives inside our own Personal Informational World.
  13. The Worlds of Pseudo-Reality created by different people have a very high degree of similarity. This is explained by the similarity of the functioning principle of the human brain.
  14. The Worlds of Pseudo-Reality created by different people also have their own differences. These differences create the uniqueness and inimitability of each person’s World.

Discussion.

What is the significance of The Theory of Personal Information Space for science?

  1. The Theory of Personal Information Space is the simplest, most elegant, and logically flawless theory that explains what Consciousness is and what Reality is.
  2. The Theory of Personal Information Space is the only Theory of Consciousness and Reality that can be proven experimentally.
  3. The Theory of Personal Information Space explains that Consciousness is the process of perceiving, analyzing, processing, and verifying information.
  4. The Theory of Personal Information Space explains that everything you see at any given moment, everything you hear at any given moment, and everything you feel at any given moment is a construct created by your brain that exists in the Personal Information Space. The human brain constantly creates everything that you perceive as reality.
  5. The External World that surrounds each person is a construct created in the Personal Information Space. This Personal Information Space is created by the neurons of the brain. Consantum performs the process of analyzing, processing, and verifying this information, allowing you to perceive the World created by the brain as Reality.
  6. In case of trauma, stroke, hypoxia, or other adverse effects, the work of the neurons of the human brain is disrupted. Dysfunction of neuronal activity leads to the patient not responding to external stimuli and not being able to make contact with medical personnel. Such patients are diagnosed with coma or vegetative state. However, the brain of some patients in coma or vegetative state strives to restore its normal neuronal activity. If the neurons of the subthalamic nuclei are able to restore Consantum, but the neurons of the cerebral cortex are not able to restore their function, then such a patient will be in a state of Absolute Nothingness. Gradually, as the neurons of the cerebral cortex recover, the functioning of the brain will begin to recover in such a patient. And his brain will restore the ability to create the World of Pseudo-Reality. It can be assumed that the restoration of brain function occurs gradually. The ability to perceive auditory and then visual information and use it to create the World of Pseudo-Reality is gradually restored. Therefore, some patients diagnosed with coma or vegetative state are actually in a state that can be called the absolute blocking syndrome. In such patients, Consantum is active and generates Consciousness. In such patients, the brain is active and creates the World of Pseudo-Reality.
  7. Understanding that each person’s brain generates a Personal Information Space allows us to study the physical properties of this space. Personal Information Space is material and has a physical basis.
  8. Understanding that each person’s brain generates a Personal Information Space in which a personal World of Pseudo-Reality is created allows us to understand the lack of criticism of one’s own condition and behavior observed in people with mental illnesses.
  9. Studying the process of creating the World of Pseudo-Reality will allow the creation of a new generation of non-invasive neuroprostheses that will restore brain function in case of injuries, strokes, and other brain diseases.
  10. The Theory of Personal Information Space allows us to solve ethical problems arising from the assessment of the state of patients diagnosed with coma and vegetative state.
  11. The Theory of Personal Information Space allows for additional scientific research to be carried out to understand the extent of brain damage and to assess its ability to recover lost functions.
