Ahura Mazda.

Ahura Mazda.

I: The Wise Lord’s Praise
O Muse, lend voice to sing of Mazda’s might,
The Wise Lord, clad in beams of heav’nly light,
Whose name doth echo through the Persian plains,
A god unmade, whose will the world sustains.
In ancient verse, the Gathas lift his throne,
A king of truth, by mortal lips unknown,
Yet known in fire, in water’s sacred flow,
Wherein his grace doth endlessly bestow.

II: The Birth of All
From naught he wrought the sky, the earth, the sea,
A craftsman vast, of boundless deity.
His mind, a well of wisdom deep and pure,
Did frame the Asha, order to ensure.
The Amesha Spentas, seven rays of grace,
From Mazda’s heart do spring to tend his place—
Good Mind, Best Truth, Dominion’s holy reign,
A choir divine to sing his vast domain.
Yet twins he bore, a riddle dark and dire,
Spenta of light, and Angra clad in fire—
The one to build, the other to destroy,
A cosmic war, mankind’s eternal toy.

III: The Dual Strife
Shall I compare thee, Lord, to mortal kings?
Thy pow’r transcends, thy wisdom ever sings,
Yet in thy realm two spirits fiercely strive,
The Holy one with good doth e’er contrive.
But Angra, fell, with Druj doth stain the day,
A shadow cast where truth hath lost its way.
No maker thou of evil’s bitter sting,
Yet in thy will the battle’s end doth ring.
When time’s long lease at last shall find its close,
The Saoshyant shall bloom as Mazda’s rose,
To mend the world, and death’s grim veil unbind,
In Frashokereti, peace for humankind.
So stands thy throne, ‘twixt dark and radiant morn,
A god of light, in endless strife reborn.

IV: The Persian Crown
In Darius’ day, thy name was carved in stone,
Achaemenid lords did call thee all their own—
“By Mazda’s will, I rule the earth below,
He shaped the stars, and bids the rivers flow.”
Yet Mithra bright, and Anahita fair,
Did share thy praise in temple’s hallowed air.
Through Parthian fields and Sassanid’s high reign,
Thy fire did blaze, a beacon free from stain.
But Zurvan rose, a heretic’s bold claim,
To name thee son, and Time the greater name—
A falsehood frail, for thou art uncreate,
The Wise Lord still, beyond all mortal fate.

V: The Flame of Truth
O Mazda, thou art fire’s eternal gleam,
A sun to chase the night’s unholy dream,
Thy wings do soar above the heav’ns so vast,
A disc of gold, where shadows are outcast.
In Garothman, thy house of song doth rise,
Where souls ascend to meet thy boundless eyes.
No hand did shape thee, nor no birth confine,
Thy light alone doth make the stars align.
Yet man must choose, with thought and word and deed,
To tend thy flame, or let the dark succeed.
For though thy might doth span the cosmic sea,
Thou bid’st us join thy war for liberty.
Thus burns thy truth, a torch through ages long,
A hymn of hope in Zoroaster’s song.

VI: The Echoes Wide
What god art thou, to rival heaven’s frame?
Thy tale doth whisper in the Jew’s acclaim,
Where hell and heav’n, and judgment’s final call,
Perchance from Persia’s fount did gently fall.
Yet diff’rent still, thy pow’r doth not enfold,
The dark that Angra weaves in lies so bold—
A lord of good, with evil set apart,
Thou reign’st supreme, yet shar’st the human heart.
In Mazda’s name, a car doth bear thy mark,
A spark of wit from Japans’ distant spark,
While Parsi souls, though few, thy rites maintain,
A living thread through time’s unyielding chain.

VII: The Eternal Quest
O Wise Lord, thou, whose gaze doth pierce the veil,
Whose light doth shine where mortal hopes prevail,
Thy dual dance of good and ill doth teach,
That truth and choice lie e’er within our reach.
No tyrant thou, to bend the will by force,
But guide to steer us on a righteous course.
A tale of godhead fit for bard and king.
Let fire burn, let water’s grace endure,
Till all the world in Asha stands secure—
For Mazda reigns, a beacon ne’er to fade,
In wisdom’s light, the universe remade.

“With good thoughts as your shield, conquer darkness and let righteousness guide your soul to light.”
